Cape Town - This mornign as I was making my way to work – already running a tad late as usual I was stunned to see the folks that work in the stadium toyi-toying (a strike of some sort), they were wielding heavy sticks and the cop cars were there to ensure they stuck to the one side of the road, Somerset road going towards the city center – that happened to be the same road I needed to get to work, so I just stood and waited for them to pass, I managed to squeeze a quick pic, scared for my life not knowing if they might attack me for finding their strike news worthy, but I didn’t seem to do too bad. 2010 World Cup Update: PE Stadium

Hey folks, hope ya'll had awesome weekends - now for anyone who cares, here's an update on the progress of the Port Elizabeth soccer stadium! It looks really really impressive, I mean its P.E, things seldom get more dire (East London), so I'm quite pleased - the roof detail gives an impression of something that opens, some retraction of some sort, i know it doesn't, but you know, it might...who knows, even fewer care, especially Capetonians. I actually know a few folks from P.E so they should be proud. From now I'll start being more patriotic and follow the progress of all the other stadiums throughout the country, even though its so hard when all i have to do is wake up to see the Cape Town, Green Point stadium, i will make more of an effort to care about the rest of the countries progress - stay tooned.Pic courtesy of sykscrapercity.com

CT: Green Point Stadium in The Mist
Seth from 2 oceansvibe posted these awesome, if not a lil' eerie pictures of the Green Point Stadium in Cape Town covered in a heavy mist. They are so cool, enchanting & captivating, very Lord Of The Rings, so i thought I'd share them on here for some of you who haven't seen them yet. Apparently blown up versions of them are available for sale at the stadium travel center.

Cape Town: Green Point Stadium
The 2010 Soccer World Cup is very much in the offing and the Green Point Stadium in Cape Town is certainly shaping up well - here's a look of the stadium from a very interesting, semi oblique angle courtesy of skyscrapercity.com. Please note that the glass roof is still missing, they've been busy putting it, I will post more pics of the stadium that I've taken later on. Enjoy.
